Message from Principal Martinez

Dear Scott Middle School Community,

As we welcome October and the beauty of the fall season, we also celebrate the successful completion of the first quarter of the school year. It is hard to believe how quickly the weeks have passed! Our students and staff have been hard at work building strong routines, embracing new learning opportunities, and creating meaningful connections within our school community. This time of year provides a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our accomplishments, celebrate growth, and set new goals for the months ahead. As cooler temperatures and colorful autumn days approach, we look forward to the many exciting events, activities, and achievements that make Scott Middle School such a special place to learn and grow. Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to ensure every student thrives. 🍂🐾

Girls Basketball Season Highlights

Our Scott Middle School Girls Basketball Team continues to make us proud! Throughout the season, these student-athletes have demonstrated tremendous dedication, perseverance, and teamwork. Their hard work is evident each time they step onto the court, and it has been exciting to watch their confidence, skills, and overall growth improve with every game.

We would like to extend a special thank you to our players for their commitment and effort, to our families for their unwavering support and encouragement, and to our outstanding coaching staff for the countless hours they invest in developing our student-athletes both on and off the court. It truly takes a team effort, and we are grateful for everyone who has contributed to a successful season.

The final home game is quickly approaching! We encourage our Bulldog community to come out and cheer on our team as they finish the season strong. Be on the lookout for an email with the official date, time, and additional details. Go Bulldogs! 🏀🐾

Bus Safety: Partnering for a Safe Ride

Student safety is always our top priority, and we appreciate your partnership in helping make transportation to and from school safe for everyone. We ask that families take a few moments to review bus expectations with their children. Students should remain seated in their assigned seats, use quiet voices when talking with their seat partner, and follow all directions from the bus driver. Additionally, students should use the handrails when loading and unloading the bus to help prevent slips, trips, and falls. By working together to reinforce these expectations at home and at school, we can ensure a safe, respectful, and positive bus experience for all Scott Middle School students. Thank you for your support! 🚌🐾

Communication

This week, we held our first closed School Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting and officially established committee leadership positions for the 2026-2027 school year. We are excited to begin this important work and look forward to strengthening the partnership between our school, families, and community.

In the coming days, we will distribute a feedback form through email to gather ideas, suggestions, questions, and concerns from our school community. We encourage all families to watch for this form in their inbox and take a few moments to share their input. Your voice is important, and your feedback will help guide discussions and future initiatives as we work together to support the success of all Scott Middle School students.

We would also like to invite families and community members to attend our first open SAC meeting on October 27 at 3:00 p.m. at Scott Middle School. This meeting will provide an opportunity to hear about current initiatives, discuss community feedback, and collaborate on ways to continue making Scott Middle School the best it can be for our students. We hope to see you there! 🐾📬

Parent-Teacher Conferences: Mark Your Calendars!

Parent-teacher conferences will be held on October 22-23, and we are excited for this valuable opportunity to partner with families in supporting student success. Conferences provide a chance to celebrate accomplishments, discuss progress, and collaborate on goals for the remainder of the school year.

Teachers will be reaching out soon with information on how to sign up for a conference time. Our goal is to achieve 100% family participation because we know that strong school-home partnerships have a positive impact on student achievement. Please mark your calendars now and be on the lookout for additional information from your child's teachers. We look forward to connecting with every family and working together to ensure a successful year for all Scott Middle School students. 🐾📚
