Dear Scott Middle School Community,
What an amazing start to the new school year! There is an energy throughout the building that is exciting, positive, and full of possibility. From the moment you walk through our doors, you can feel the sense of enthusiasm and purpose that makes our school such a special place.
This strong start did not happen by chance. It is the result of the dedication, teamwork, and support of our incredible staff, students, families, and community members. Thank you for everything you do to help ensure our school year begins smoothly and successfully.
Our students are settling into their routines, building new relationships, and learning the expectations that will help them grow academically and personally. Whether they are new to our school or stepping into a new grade level, they are embracing the opportunities ahead with confidence and curiosity.
As we move forward, our focus is simple: Thrive Through Intentionality and Level Up! Together, we will challenge ourselves to be purposeful in our actions, committed to continuous growth, and dedicated to making this our best year yet.

Greetings Parents, Students, and Staff,
We at Scott Middle School are off to a fantastic start to the school year! Our students are moving with purpose, demonstrating positive behavior, and embracing the Level Up Challenge. This exciting initiative will take place through our PBIS program and is designed to encourage students to grow, achieve, and excel both academically and socially.
We look forward to a positive and successful school year where greatness is evident in each and every student. Together, we will continue to create a supportive learning environment that inspires excellence and celebrates student success.

Bulldog Huddle
On August 21, we held our first parent and administration meeting we fondly call Bulldog Huddle. This is a monthly meeting we will host each month where you can share ideas or concerns and we can talk about possible solutions, clarify, or make revisions. Ms. Gore and I also plan to have guest speakers throughout the year such as our reading and math specialist who can provide you with resources to support your student. If there is an area or topic you would like to know more about please let me know and I will work to put it together for you.
During our meeting today there were positive comments shared but one stood out to me, “The staff have invited us in and it has made us feel included in our child’s education.” That is what it is all about. You are your child’s first teacher and that job will last a life time. We want to embrace our families as support and welcome you to come volunteer in the school.
Clubs
We are working on establishing after school clubs for our students which will being in September. There will be more information coming home soon.
Communication
We are committed to communicating with you in various ways to ensure you are aware of what is happening in the school and to build our home and school relationships. Each month I will prepare a newsletter that will be posted on our official website at https://scottms.dodea.edu/ . This is our official avenue for communication. On our website you will find the monthly calendar, events, school news, and many more pertinent information. Please make sure you check it out so you can stay informed.

Student Drop-Off Reminder
The safety of our students is always our top priority. While we have previously shared our arrival procedures, we are still seeing some vehicles stop in traffic lanes or drop students off outside of the designated drop-off area. Unfortunately, this creates a safety concern for students and staff and contributes to traffic congestion during our busy morning arrival time.
We kindly ask all families to use the designated drop-off lane located on the right side of the building when dropping off students. Following these procedures helps keep traffic flowing efficiently and, most importantly, ensures that all students arrive safely.
As a reminder, students arriving after 7:25 a.m. are considered late and must be signed in by a parent or guardian at the front office before reporting to class.
Thank you for your cooperation and partnership in helping us provide a safe and organized start to each school day. Your support makes a tremendous difference for all of our students! 🚗🏫💙

Our Scott Middle School Girls Basketball team is working hard, demonstrating teamwork, determination, and Bulldog pride every day. We invite our families, friends, and community members to come out and support our student-athletes at their home games this season!
There is nothing like the energy of a home crowd to motivate our players and celebrate the dedication they bring to the court. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, sibling, neighbor, or community supporter, your presence makes a difference and helps create an exciting game-day atmosphere for our students.
All home games begin at 5:30 p.m.
Let's fill the stands, show our Bulldog spirit, and cheer on our Lady Bulldogs as they compete throughout the season. Together, we can make every home game a memorable experience for our athletes!

AVID College & Career Wednesdays and Bulldog Spirit Fridays
At Scott Middle School, we are committed to helping our students develop a college- and career-ready mindset through our AVID program. One fun way we can support this goal is by participating in College and Career Wednesdays! Each Wednesday, students and staff are encouraged to wear college apparel, military branch gear, or clothing that represents a future career interest. This is a great opportunity to spark conversations about future goals and inspire students to start thinking about their paths beyond middle school.
Then, on Fridays, let's show our Bulldog pride by wearing Scott Middle School spirit wear or our school colors! Spirit Fridays are a wonderful way to celebrate our school community, build connections, and demonstrate the pride we share as Bulldogs.
Together, let's make Wednesdays and Fridays a visible reminder of both our bright futures and our strong Bulldog spirit. We can't wait to see everyone participating throughout the year! 💙🐾🎓🎉
